A Magical Couples Session along the San Marcos River in Luling, Texas

I'm beyond obsessed with how incredible this session was and how great these two are! I started the day off worried that the rain would be too heavy for us to move forward but my couple was all for going with what nature planned so we took a chance and went for it. As I drove to the first location the sky grew dark and it began to sprinkle.

We started our session in an old abandoned church that fit this couples vibe perfectly, it was spooky and beautiful. The rain poured down so we escaped inside the crumbling building. We explored the space and took moments under the stained glass windows admiring the architecture. When the rain slowed, we played in the overgrown flowers once lovingly planted by the people who were there before us. After spending some time sheltering from the rain there, we then went to my absolute favorite park located in Luling, Texas.

This park is my favorite for a number of reasons but mostly because I love the privacy that is found here. With it typically being so empty my clients are able to open up and be themselves. so the multiple gorgeous spots to use during the session are just a plus! The rain had grown even heavier by then but we were all in!

This day was particularly quiet due to the weather, it was just us, encompassed by the rolling grass and a low misty fog. We walked down the long grassy hill to the San Marcos river, taking in the golden fall foliage, before choosing a spot under the tall trees to take a break and enjoy our surroundings. I stepped back for a bit at this point to give some moments of privacy and capture some more intimate moments for the couple. As the sky grew darker we moved to a spot further into the park with large cliffy hills and an old railroad bridge going over the river that allowed the remaining light to shine down on us.

When we arrived the rain sprinkled down lighter now and dozens of dragonflies flew above us in zigzagging patterns. It was one of the most magical moments with the most dragonflies I've ever seen at one time. It would have been unbelievable if I hadn't been able to capture it myself. This truly was one of the best ends to a session I've experienced and I hope Mother Nature continues you to surprise me during my sessions.
